Former Prime Minister’s Conditional Apology

Rather than taunting or mocking, it is commendable that former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has issued a conditional apology in light of the events and attacks of May 9. Finally, he has realized that it’s better to be late than never and that his party made a mistake by attacking the bourgeois state in the name of protest, and that if he accepts responsibility for it after gathering or providing evidence as a founder, his esteem and admiration will rise.

Apart from the vast majority of Pakistanis, the country’s establishment has rewarded them with power as well as love and trust. In such a situation, people should understand their political and moral obligations, as well as why it was critical not only to file a no-confidence motion against their administration but also to determine who was responsible for the violent episodes on May 9.

As for his “condition” to provide evidence of his party workers’ involvement in the events of May 9, he knows better than we do that countless videos still exist on the internet, including dozens of videos of leaders and workers that they recorded and posted on social media on May 8 and 9. However, it is now the responsibility of the appropriate government entities to give this proof.

Imran Khan should also take note of the words and speeches of his chairman Barrister Gohar and others, during which he was seen threatening various other leaders, including Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, as well as ridiculing Bangladesh’s Hasina Wajid.

This implies that the party has yet to learn anything from the events of May 9 and its “consequences.” He should also take into account the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tough actions and the renewed onslaught on Islamabad because no one understands the logic of two conflicting policies at once.

Regarding the attitude of the Pakistani state about the events of May 9, Aside from certain fresh actions, the example of the bold declaration made in DG ISPR’s press briefing yesterday is sufficient. In such a situation, it is necessary to avoid traditional tactics by admitting mistakes, because the former Prime Minister and his party’s options and cards have become limited, and it is also widely assumed that some leaders in this party are attempting and hoping that Imran Khan does not be released from jail so that their “business” can continue.
