The operations were carried out in 19 districts of the province over 8 months.
Peshawar – (Ghag Report)
Over the first 8 months of this year, security forces carried out a record number of intelligence-based operations in around 19 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 413 terrorists and injuring or arresting over 100 others. 882 intelligence-based operations were reportedly conducted in the districts where previously already the operation were conducted from January 1 to August 28 in the problematic areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. All tribal areas and the southern districts were included in this; however, Khyber, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and Bannu continued to be surcharged.
According to the report, about 11,000 various types of weaponry were captured from terrorist groups during these intelligence-led operations, including rocket launchers, SMGs, heavy machine guns, and grenades.
Analyst Dr. Akhtar Ali Shah claims that this year’s increased security force operations were caused by the ongoing attacks on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the provincial government’s civil institutions’ poor performance, which forced the army to launch extraordinary operations.
