The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has made a statement that has gained prominence in political, journalistic, and military circles. According to the statement, he is taking down security check posts from specific regions due to public complaints. Experts claim that the army never enters a region without the government’s request and requisition; instead, it must carry out Article 245 of the Constitution by protocol. In fact, in some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the army is sent in to restore peace by the same protocol.
While DG ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry made a significant statement on Thursday that was reported by a few Peshawar newspapers and social media platforms. He stated that the army is not interested in being deployed in this way and that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should demand the army’s withdrawal by protocol if they do not need it to handle the unrest in the province. He reportedly stated that things had gotten worse in Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, and a few other places. As a result, when conducting operations there, the army not only stopped terrorists in their tracks but also apprehended criminal groups and individuals.
Reportedly, the DG ISPR declared during the event that there would be no discussions, cooperation, or compromises with Fitna-ul-Khwaraj. Instead, they will be destroyed with all the possible strength and determination, and Pakistan’s security forces are more than competent in achieving this. He adds that there is no room for discipline violations in the army, which is why, upon discovering evidence of partisan favoritism, action was taken against a prominent former officer and a few other disciplined individuals.
