GHAG Report

Azam Swati, a former federal minister and member of the PTI, along with his spouse have filed a case in the Peshawar High Court challenging the federal government’s denial of their request to go to the capital city of Kabul.

Despite the present unrest and the strained relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, why was Azam Swati traveling to Kabul with his spouse? Nobody is posing this crucial question, despite its importance. On the explicit instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan, ‘Ghag’ was informed by trustworthy sources that Azam Swati was scheduled to travel to Kabul to undertake a significant “task”. Aside from Murad Saeed, an important member of his party in Afghanistan, the minister is allegedly attempting to travel to Kabul to meet with significant figures in the TTP and the Afghan government and deliver an “important message” from Imran Khan.

The sources claim that since the events of May 9, several prominent PTI figures, including Murad Saeed, have continued to be “guests” in Afghanistan. These claims have been received by some agencies. After the formation of the PTI’s third government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is receiving regular protocol, many of them relocated to Peshawar under government sponsorship, while some left through Kabul.

Sources claim that Azam Swati’s planned visit was intended for more than just meeting some of the leaders who were held up in Afghanistan. Instead, he was supposed to meet with representatives of the Islamic Emirate, the Afghan government, and the TTP. However, he was not granted permission for the visit, so yesterday he went before the Peshawar High Court to argue that he should be permitted to go. Additionally, according to some well-informed sources, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is trying to pressure Pakistan via the United States, Britain, India, and other nations, as well as the interim Afghan government and other international lobbies. Imran Khan has also reportedly given specific instructions in this regard. Instead, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is also making efforts to facilitate the task in this regard.
