Background of TTP’s support to PTM’s Jirga
Amar Ullah Saleh with others is also active in supporting PTM
Several important leaders are off to the United States at the invitation of 2 groups
The Afghan government is concerned about the situation in Pakistan.
PESHAWAR: A sudden surge in new diplomatic and journalistic activities in addition to the ongoing terrorism, political activity, and propaganda against the Pakistani state has been witnessed. Amidst all this, opposing ideological groups seem to be on the same page and supporting one another despite their ideological differences. In this sense, the PTI and its provincial administration have adopted a frontal stance against the government. Furthermore, the TTP has chosen to back the October 11 Pashtun Tahafuz Movement in Khyber District. Rather, a five-day ceasefire has also been established in “respect” of this incident. In a lengthy speech, Ameer Noorwalu Mehsud of the TTP pushed the Pashtuns and supported the PTM’s anti-state agenda to take a stand against the state.
On the other hand, the Afghan interim government has shown “great skill” and expressed concern over the affairs and situation in Pakistan in a formal statement, even saying that Afghanistan is closely monitoring the whole situation. Former deputy Afghan president and anti-Pakistan Pashtun leader Amar Ullah Saleh has also come out with a statement saying that all people should ensure their participation in the PTM jirga.
However, several events have been sparked by two anti-Pakistan lobbying groups and organizations in the US, who invited a large number of Pakistani leaders, analysts, and other individuals from various fields who are thought to be against Pakistan; the majority of these individuals are Pashtun and Baloch nationalists. The American, Indian, and British media, as well as numerous think institutes, are giving these factors a lot of coverage, and many more people are set to leave soon. Despite the political opposition to the government, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and a few other leaders have made it plain that they will vehemently oppose any action that goes against the state of Pakistan. Many reputable analysts have also expressed concern over all these activities and the unnatural Nexus, condemning it. All this adventurism is being rewarded with ample coverage by sponsored YouTubers and social media handlers of the PTI, who have long been trying to build a narrative that Pakistan’s Pashtuns have risen in rebellion against the state.
In this context, eminent analyst Sadia Sattar observed that attempts are being made to create the appearance that systematic propaganda is being carried out against Pakistan with Indian investment and backing. Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people have resorted to resistance or insurrection. But in reality, there is not such a thing as that, and things in Pakistan are considerably better than they are in India. The mainstream media is failing to do its part to fight Indian propaganda, and, regrettably, the majority of Pakistan’s politicians are unaware of this.
The primary spokesperson for the ANP, Engineer Ehsanullah, stated during the conversation that while there is no rationale for the PTM ban, it is important to allow people to express their opinions. However, the PTI and its provincial government have a policy of destroying society and the economy in addition to the state and politics. It is important to treat it seriously on all fronts since this party’s actions have grown intolerable. He contends that it is false to say that the majority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa voters supported the PTI. Out of the almost 30 crore people living in the province, he indicated that only 32-33 lac voters supported the party. He claims that this party’s regional government backs the Taliban in addition they are also engaged in promoting anarchy and hatred in the society.
