GHAG Report
On Monday, five armed terrorists stormed the district police headquarters in Bannu, one of the main cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Four police officers were murdered in the attack, while the troops killed all five of the terrorists at the gate. The attack occurred during the funeral prayers for the police officer who was killed in a terrorist strike in the Baka Khel region the day before, according to some sources.
According to reports, five terrorists have been killed. They reached the main gate of the police headquarters in a rickshaw wearing burqas and suddenly attacked four policemen stationed at the gate with heavy weapons.
The forces not only engaged them under a successful strategy for a long time but also killed them all.
It may be recalled that earlier on July 15 this year, a group of terrorists had launched a major attack in the interior area of Bannu Cantonment, in response to which the forces killed 10 attackers during the operation.
After learning of the recent attack, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur directed the Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police to immediately reach Bannu and submit a report, while he also issued a package for the families of the martyrs.
