PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Ministry of Interior and Tribal Affairs has formalized proceedings against ten proscribed PTM leaders and administrators under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 as part of the Schedule IV process. According to the Act and the Schedule, not only those on the list will face prosecution under the Anti-Terrorism Act. They will also be denied other civic benefits, such as identification documents.
The names of the leaders and administrators who have been included in the notification issued are Malik Naseer Ahmed Afridi, Imran Afridi, Hussain Ahmed, Aftab Shinwari, Sami Ullah, Muqeeb Afridi, Jehangir Khan, Muhammad Hanif Afridi, Khan Wali and Amjad.
On the other hand, some leaders of the banned PTM have alleged that the government has arrested more than 500 PTM leaders and activists in different parts of the country, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after the Jamrud Jirga. Their lists have been provided to the concerned agencies and action will undoubtedly be taken against them under the law, but they do not have the data and other details of the arrested people.
