GHAG Report

Allama Ahmad Shakib, the Afghan ambassador in Pakistan, said that Afghanistan is facing many challenges and difficulties, and to get out of this situation, we not only want good relations with Pakistan, but its cooperation is also needed. Speaking exclusively to Ghag.pk during a seminar in Islamabad, he said that Pakistan has a grievance that Afghanistan’s territory is being used against it, and this grievance and mistrust are not only affecting relations between the two countries. On the other hand, trade, investment, and other related issues are also being affected, which the Afghan interim government is fully aware of, and it is their endeavour to improve relations between the two neighbouring countries at every level to pave the way for ending mistrust and tension.

In response to a question, he said that God has blessed Afghanistan with immense natural resources and blessings, but due to ongoing wars and tensions, we are not able to benefit from Afghanistan’s geographical importance and these resources. According to him, Pakistan is our neighbouring country with which we are tied in many relationships. We want Pakistan to cooperate with us in the reconstruction of Afghanistan so that the lives of the Afghan people can be made peaceful and the bitterness and tension in the region can be reduced.

He added that the interim government of Afghanistan is aware of some of Pakistan’s concerns and grievances and wants to improve relations and pave the way for trade, investment, and mutual benefits.
