PESHAWAR – GHAG Report
The banned militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has released a statement outlining its extensive operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and beyond throughout October 2024.
220 Attacks in One Month, 130 Lives Lost
According to the TTP, the group carried out 220 attacks, resulting in the martyrdom of 130 people, primarily security personnel. Another 154 were reportedly injured, with 11 arrests made.
87 Attacks Claimed in DI Khan Division
The DI Khan Division faced the brunt of the violence, with 87 attacks taking place in this region alone during October.
Bannu, North Waziristan, and Lakki Marwat Hit Hard
A combined total of 72 attacks were reported in Bannu, North Waziristan, and Lakki Marwat, highlighting these areas as focal points of TTP’s operations.
Army and Police Targeted Most
The TTP spokesperson stated that about 140 army personnel and 110 police and CTD officials were specifically targeted. Additionally, 59 members of the Frontier Corps were attacked. While official data counters some of these claims, it confirms the high intensity of violence and the significant impact on security forces.
Regions such as South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, and Bannu remain hotspots, with Malakand Division also seeing 27 attacks throughout October. Official verification of these numbers is pending, and the impact on local communities and security remains under intense scrutiny.
