Bannu:( Ghag Report)
In a tragic incident of targeted violence, four people, including a tribal elder, were killed in the Jani Khel area of Bannu when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a moving vehicle. The attack also left four others, including women and children, injured.
According to police sources, the incident occurred in the Seentanga Weki locality of Jani Khel. The victims were identified as Malik Shadikhel, Ajab Khan, Ajmal, and a woman. The injured, comprising family members of the victims, were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
This attack is the latest in a series of escalating acts of terrorism across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting the deteriorating law and order situation in the region. Despite repeated incidents of violence in areas like Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, and Waziristan, the provincial government under PTI appears preoccupied with its agitation politics, neglecting the urgent need for robust governance to address these security concerns.
The surge in targeted killings and militant activities raises serious questions about the KP government’s ability to prioritize public safety amidst a political environment marred by protests and confrontations. Security experts have warned that such governance failures provide fertile ground for extremist groups to exploit, further destabilizing the region.
Police have launched an investigation into the attack, but the identity and motives of the assailants remain unknown. Meanwhile, residents of the area continue to live in fear, calling for immediate action to restore peace and security in the region.
