Special Assistant Dr. Amjad’s peculiar logic.
The Minister is also unaware that the DPO is an employee of the Provincial Government.
Dr. Amjad, who gave alms to the Taliban, addressed the assembly on the Swat incident.
PESHAWAR: Dramatic speeches continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial legislature, and ministers and MPAs from the ruling party PTI have transformed the house into a propaganda engine against the state, but also against the government. On the contrary, several ministers appear to be engaging in the folly of “scoring” over their government in their attempts to target the establishment.
Dr. Amjad Ali Khan, a special assistant from Swat, for instance, made light-hearted remarks about the terrorist attack on foreign diplomats in Swat during his speech yesterday. He also claimed that his provincial government was not informed of the visit by the federal government and that the latter had not obtained a letter of authorization.
The Minister added that the DPOs were the only ones who knew about the aforementioned visit. Maybe they are unaware that the DPO is, under the Rules of Business, an employee of the provincial government. In addition, the minister has tacitly acknowledged that if he claimed that the provincial government was ignorant of this significant visit, it represented the greatest failure of both the provincial government and the civil intelligence organizations that it oversees. As you may remember, the minister served as a cabinet minister under Mahmood Khan, and there were frequent rumors that he was aiding and abetting the local Taliban in exchange for alms.
