Karachi (Ghag Report):
General Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief, addressed the business community in Karachi today, expressing full confidence in the country’s bright and stable future. Reflecting on the past year, General Munir noted that the clouds of despair that once loomed over Pakistan have now cleared. He recalled his earlier statement that “despair is forbidden for a Muslim,” emphasizing that the country’s economic indicators are now positive and will continue to improve in the coming year, InshaAllah.
In a direct response to critics who once predicted Pakistan’s default, General Munir questioned, “Where are the people who were spreading despair and talking about default? Shouldn’t they be held accountable?” He reiterated that no interest, including politics, should take precedence over the nation, urging everyone to prioritize Pakistan over personal gains.
The Army Chief made a strong statement regarding the importance of the state, calling it a motherly figure whose value can only be truly understood by the people of Libya, Iraq, and Palestine. “Remember, Pakistan is our only identity,” he stated, emphasizing the need for unity in the face of adversity. “No matter how many challenges we face, if we stand together, no one can harm us.”
General Munir also called on the business community to invest in Pakistan, ensuring that both the public and the country benefit. He asserted that only Pakistanis can bring economic stability through their own efforts, particularly by helping the country avoid a financial crisis.
On the issue of terrorism, General Munir pointed out that illegal businesses and specific elements are behind the financing of terrorism. He also highlighted that the protection of Pakistan’s digital borders and the security of its citizens’ digital space are vital responsibilities of the state.
In his address, General Munir underscored the need for collective action, urging the public to come together for the progress and prosperity of the nation.
