Islamabad (Ghag Report):
In a dramatic turn of events, Pakistan Army troops have taken control of D-Chowk, removing media teams and DSNG vans from the area. The move comes as tensions rise with PTI workers clashing with security forces.
Army personnel have secured strategic positions, including atop containers, to maintain order. Announcements from local mosques urge protestors to remain peaceful, warning against vandalism and unlawful actions. “Protesting is everyone’s right, but damaging property or harming others will lead to action,” declared the announcements.
As PTI workers swarmed D-Chowk, intense shelling ensued, forcing the crowd to retreat. Police and Rangers are actively attempting to push back the demonstrators, while army personnel have taken positions on rooftops near the site to monitor the situation.
The situation remains volatile, with a strong military and paramilitary presence ensuring the enforcement of law and order.
