Khuzdar: The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) carried out a coordinated attack on Tehsil Zehri in District Khuzdar, Balochistan, targeting key installations in a bold daylight assault.
According to initial reports, around 60–70 armed militants entered the area at approximately 12:45 PM, arriving in four vehicles and 15–18 motorcycles. The attackers looted the United Bank Limited (UBL) branch and vandalized the Levies Thana before setting up checkpoints in parts of the area.
Witnesses stated that announcements were made over mosque loudspeakers, creating panic among residents. The militants also erected roadblocks on Balbal Zehri Road and Transan Road and positioned themselves on nearby heights, making it difficult for reinforcements to approach immediately.
Tehsil Zehri, which falls under B Area jurisdiction, is primarily manned by Levies personnel, with no permanent presence of Frontier Corps (FC) or Army units. The limited security infrastructure in the area has raised concerns about its preparedness to respond to such incidents.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and security forces are formulating a strategy to stabilize the region and restore normalcy.
The incident highlights ongoing security challenges in Balochistan and the need for strengthened measures to safeguard remote areas against militant activities.
Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
