Approximately a dozen central leaders and politicians were arrested.
Arrests are being made for taking the law into their own hands and engaging in violence.
PESHAWAR: Islamabad police have either detained or are conducting searches to detain over a dozen PTI leaders, including Barrister Gohar, the party’s chairman based on a number of cases, The principal leaders and legislators who have been detained, other than Barrister Gohar, include Sher Afzal Marwat, Sheikha Waqas Akram, Zubair Khan, Shoaib Shaheen, Zain Qureshi, Hamid Raza, Jamshed Dasti, Moulana Naseem, Amir Dogar, Shahid Khattak and many other at an Islamabad police station, a case has also been filed against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Police and government representatives claim that further arrests will be made. All of these party officials have been detained in compliance with the law in cases including violence at the rally, condition violations, provocation, and interference with the government. Reliable sources claim that a list of 28 leaders who have been taken into custody has been sent to the Islamabad Police.
