Dreadful Era of Bad Governance in KP

The fact that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is accused of serious corruption in addition to internal divisions and groupism, raises serious concerns. The provincial government is also pursuing a policy of political point scoring as a result of political tensions with the federal government and establishment. Interestingly, the provincial government cannot find a way out of this predicament, despite the accusations coming from members of the ruling party and the provincial cabinet rather than from members of the opposition. In a meeting with the founder of PTI yesterday in jail, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said that the founder voiced concern about the state of affairs, but he was unable to convey what Shakeel Khan and his supporters were saying. Whether he is correct or the Chief Minister’s and the province spokesperson’s positions are correct. Shakeel Khan has the backing of prominent figures such as Atif Khan and Junaid Akbar Khan, and the founding chairman has likely invited him to a meeting.

With all of this, it has become evident that high-profile individuals are involved in the game of high-level appointments, with crores of “bids” being made. But the more disappointing factor is that no one feels the need to confront the corrupt bureaucrats, nor do these vultures of the war-torn province fear any consequences or shame.

Considering all of this, it is unfortunate that, despite the ruling party’s assertions, the province is experiencing the worst forms of corruption and terrible governance. The state of affairs has also harmed the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism. The federal government is also adopting the strategy of detachment because the provincial administration is mired in these issues.
