The PTI founder Imran Khan was met at the Adiala Jail on Saturday by a key delegation led by party chairman Barrister Gohar. In addition to asking him how he was doing, the delegation asked him about the country’s situation, particularly the proposed constitutional amendments, and took his instructions. Based on the information that has been received so far, the founding chairman was more concerned with issues about his release and facilities than with the amendments this time, and he expressed strong resentment that the party did not put on an impressive power show as he had instructed.
According to sources, Imran Khan has also summoned Punjab’s opposition leader, including Omar Ayub, and some others to explain, but when Barrister Gohar contacted Bilawal Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman to allow a meeting in this regard, the two “mediators” apologized for further assistance. It may be recalled that the meeting, which was held almost two weeks later, was allowed on the recommendation of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Earlier, the PTI propagated that the founder’s life was in danger and that there was a conspiracy against him. Pro-PTI YouTubers based abroad often went to the extent of propagating that the founder of PTI was not “alive” or that there was an attempt to assassinate him. Earlier, on the wish of the Maulana, the government adopted a policy of showing a lot of “leniency,” but the situation again went to zero tolerance when not only the fake news of the desecration of a woman or a student by a guard with a girls’ college in Lahore was spread, but a regular campaign was run to pave the way for students to commit violent acts on the Bangladesh-style, which created more bitterness and the government again came to the resistance.
The bitter truth is that the PTI has been plagued by organizational differences. Rather, it is not even deterred from anti-state activities and all its attention is focused on forcing the state through various tactics not only to release Imran Khan but also to pave the way for him to come back to power, which does not seem possible.
In all this situation, the unnecessary remarks of the Supreme Court, the confrontational attitude and the ongoing propaganda against the military establishment have created more difficulties, the expected results of which were indicated by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari yesterday.
When the personal factor is included in politics, the results are the same which are in front of everyone at the moment and if this trend continues, the apprehension of harming the system will increase and the state will be forced to opt for other options. The responsibility to deal with and get out of this situation will fall on all the stakeholders, especially the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, because the state is very powerful and the history of Pakistan is full of many bitter decisions.
