In a significant step toward promoting sports in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has announced the launch of the “Governor Football Cup,” which is set to kick off soon. The initiative aims to provide a platform for young players to showcase their talent and foster a culture of healthy competition.
The announcement was made during a ceremony organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Football Association leader and former national footballer, Shahid Khan Shinwari, to honor the governor upon his return from Umrah. On this occasion, Shinwari presented a specially designed football for the tournament to Governor Kundi.
Governor Kundi highlighted the dual benefits of sports, emphasizing their importance for both physical and mental well-being. “The Governor Football Cup will not only promote football but also engage the youth in positive activities,” he remarked. Teams from various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will participate in the tournament, which seeks to enhance skills, build a spirit of competition, and encourage athleticism among young players.
Shahid Khan Shinwari praised the governor’s efforts, describing the tournament as a transformative opportunity for the province’s youth. He expressed optimism that the initiative would strengthen Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s identity in the world of sports and pave the way for future stars.
