Ghag Report

The deadliest terrorist assaults to date, in 2024, have struck Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in 337 martyred personnel of the Pakistan Army, Police, CTD, and other institutions and 616 injured in terrorist strikes and counterterrorism operations throughout 13 districts of the province, including almost 50 high officials.

The majority of the attacks, according to an official source, took place in Dera Ismail Khan, the district where Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the governor, and the IG KP Police reside. These terrorist activities and counterattacks have resulted in the deaths of 63 troops from the forces. 50 security officers were slain in North Waziristan, 38 in South Waziristan, 29 in Bajaur, 22 in Khyber, 18 in Peshawar, 16 in Kurram, 11 in Mardan and Malakand, 10 in Kohat, 8 in Dir, and 3 in Momand, the report claims. However, according to a previous estimate, 445 wanted terrorists have been killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a result of military counterterrorism operations this year. The analysis was released in July 2024.

However, there have been reports that during operations in Spinwam (Waziristan) and Bannu on Wednesday and Thursday, the troops killed almost a dozen terrorists (Fitna-ul-Khwaraj) and took a significant number of explosives and modern weaponry from them. DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry made it quite evident on Friday during a meeting with students in Peshawar that there will be no talks or concessions with Fitna-ul-Khwaraj.

As to the statement made by DG ISPR, Pakistani forces are proficient in getting rid of these kinds of elements and will do so shortly. He claimed that in addition to causing a rise in unrest, the facilities provided to terrorists by the previous federal government (the Imran Khan era) also resulted in the deaths of numerous young people and military officers, whose killers cannot be pardoned. He further stated that Pakistan’s forces will keep defeating these anti-state forces and groups with the help of the populace and their abilities.
