GHAG Report
Prominent journalistic and diplomatic circles have disclosed that major players have concluded deliberations and arrangements to execute the potential imposition of the governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The resolution is anticipated to be concluded after the prime minister’s arrival back from the United States. Sources informed GHAG that they had not only expressed their “displeasure” to the federal government and the establishment but also to the terrorist attack on a convoy of foreign diplomats in Malam Jabba Swat on September 22 and the current sectarian conflict in Kurram. For the first time, he also voiced concerns over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s security state among which the nations are Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, and the United Arab Emirates.
In the same context, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi invited the aforementioned diplomats to visit and wrote letters of apology to them. However, due to extreme pressure, the provincial government also took action against DPO DIG Swat, and a few other individuals and started an investigation into the Swat attack. These well-informed sources claim that Iran has voiced great dissatisfaction over a provincial minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s statement in which the minister discussed employing Iranian weapons and missiles during the ongoing war in Kurram district.
The founding chairman himself made a clear suggestion in a statement yesterday that the party should demonstrate strength in Rawalpindi despite concerns about the governor’s rule, citing allegations that the PTI and CM House had also been made aware of the preparations for the anticipated governor’s rule.
Faisal Karim Kundi, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa similarly believes that the constitution permits the implementation of emergency or governor’s rule. As a result, there are no restrictions on using this authority in some situations. Despite having this authority and choice, the governor stated to the media in Karachi yesterday that he would not allow the PTI administration and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to become political martyrs. However, recent actions and occurrences have opened the door to the prospect of the governor’s rule, and the coming days may prove to be critical in this regard.
