PTI Considers GT Road Route to Islamabad Amid Motorway Closure

Consultation on Removing Blockades to Reopen Motorways

Peshawar (Ghag Report):

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has resolved to reach Islamabad at all costs tomorrow.

A high-level meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar under the chairmanship of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar. The meeting was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, former President Arif Alvi, Shibli Faraz, Secretary of Information Sheikh Waqas Akram, and other senior leaders.

The participants reviewed the arrangements for tomorrow’s protest and finalized plans for the Islamabad march.

Given the closure of motorways, the party discussed the option of sending convoys via GT Road and deliberated on strategies to remove blockades and reopen the motorways.

Routes for convoys from Hazara and Malakand were also considered, while discussions took place about deploying heavy machinery to Attock and Swabi to clear the way.

Meanwhile, the federal government has taken a firm stance. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi contacted PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, informing him that no permission would be granted for a sit-in or rally.

During the conversation, Mohsin Naqvi referred to the Islamabad High Court’s orders, stating that the government is bound by the court’s decision and cannot allow any processions, sit-ins, or rallies in the capital.
