Islamabad (Ghag Report):
In preparation for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) anticipated protest on November 24, the Ministry of Interior has granted special powers to Punjab Rangers and the Frontier Corps (FC) under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.
The decision was approved by the Ministry of Interior following a summary submitted by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad. These enhanced powers aim to maintain law and order and address any potential security challenges during the PTI’s “final call” protest.
The PTI protest, which is expected to draw large crowds, has raised concerns over possible disruptions, prompting federal authorities to take precautionary measures to ensure public safety and peace in the federal capital.
