Resumption of Activities and Documentation at Chaman Border

Despite months of ongoing protests and tensions by some political and business circles, thousands of concerned individuals and business groups have accelerated the process of obtaining passports along with the necessary documents required to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border for continuing business activities at the Chaman border in Balochistan. Because of this, not only have regular activities resumed, but business activities have also commenced. According to available information and data, 7,500 concerned individuals have obtained passports through the one-window documentation procedure over the past period. Special arrangements have been made at the Chaman border for the passport acquisition process.

A government official told “Ghag.pk” that not only were 7,500 individuals issued Pakistani passports in the past few days, but an additional 9,600 individuals have submitted documents and received tokens for new passports, including a large number of business groups. According to him, limited-scale commercial activities have also begun at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Chaman over the past few days.
