Seven Militants Killed in South Waziristan Clash

South Waziristan (Ghag Report):

Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Pak-Afghan border, killing seven militants in a gun battle in the Lower South Waziristan district early Thursday.

According to sources, a group of approximately 30 militants tried to cross into Pakistan from Afghanistan under the cover of darkness. Upon being detected, a fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, leaving seven militants dead on the spot. The remaining attackers retreated into Afghan territory, sources added.

During a subsequent search operation, security forces discovered the body of another suspected militant, believed to be an Afghan national. Weapons, ammunition, and a rocket launcher were also recovered from the site.

Officials emphasized that security operations in the region would continue until all militant threats are neutralized. They reiterated the commitment to thwart any attempts at infiltration and maintain vigilance along the border.

Pakistan has consistently called on the Afghan government to prevent cross-border militant activity. Despite repeated appeals, Afghan soil continues to be used as a launchpad for attacks into Pakistan, with little to no action taken to curb such activities so far, officials noted.
