Since General Asim Munir assumed office as Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, the country has witnessed a remarkable shift in its internal and border security dynamics. Under his leadership, significant steps have been taken to curb corruption, strengthen accountability, and uphold Pakistan’s sovereignty.
One of the most notable achievements has been the crackdown on cross-border smuggling. Previously, items such as dollars, wheat, and sugar were frequently smuggled through the Afghan border, adversely affecting the nation’s economy. However, under General Munir’s tenure, such activities have not only been curtailed but also eliminated to a great extent. Officials and personnel involved in these illegal practices have faced strict disciplinary actions, with many being penalized or dismissed.
Moreover, the stability of the Pakistani rupee has been another achievement. Over the past three years, despite minor fluctuations, the currency has largely maintained its value. This is a direct result of improved border management and stringent monitoring of economic activities, ensuring that foreign currency reserves are not drained through illegal means.
Internationally, General Asim Munir’s leadership has resonated with adversaries. Efforts by hostile elements to destabilize Pakistan have met with failure, leading to frustration among those who sought to harm the country. Reports suggest that agents involved in anti-Pakistan conspiracies, whether domestic or foreign, are now either fleeing, facing justice, or serving prison sentences.
Domestically, General Munir’s tenure has brought unprecedented accountability within the military and judiciary. Senior officers involved in undermining democratic processes have been removed, with some facing trials and imprisonment. The ongoing trial of former Lt. General Faiz Hameed stands as a testament to the army’s commitment to holding even its top brass accountable.
Efforts to counter external threats, particularly from India and Israel, have also seen significant success. Plans aimed at destabilizing Pakistan or targeting its integrity have not only failed but have backfired on those involved. Inner stability and a proactive approach have rendered such conspiracies ineffective, ensuring the safety and unity of the nation.
In this renewed era of stability, accountability, and resilience, General Asim Munir’s leadership has played a pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s future. The country stands more united and prepared to face challenges, sending a strong message to adversaries and earning respect on both national and international fronts.
