TTP Announces Major Restructuring with New Appointments Across Key Regions

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced a series of high-level appointments as part of its ongoing organizational restructuring efforts. The announcement was made by the group’s spokesperson, Muhammad Khorasani, via his Twitter account late last night.

According to the statement, the TTP frequently undertakes organizational changes to enhance its structure and efficiency. As part of the latest reforms, the group has reclassified the divisions of Peshawar, Malakand, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan as Wilayats (provinces). Each province has been assigned a governor, a deputy governor, and an intelligence chief. Additionally, new appointments have been made for the group’s military commissions in northern and southern zones.

Organizational Changes

The statement also mentioned that previous Wilayats, including Bajaur, Dara Adamkhel, and Khyber Agency, have now been merged into the Wilayats of Malakand and Peshawar.

These appointments are part of the TTP’s broader efforts to streamline its operational and organizational hierarchy, signaling the group’s attempt to enhance its capabilities amid ongoing challenges. The move raises concerns about the group’s ambitions and its ability to maintain influence in key regions.
