Unattendance of Governor KP and CM’s Negligence

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa called upon a meeting of the Apex Committee to be held at the CM House on Thursday 25, 2024, the purpose of which was to look into the security situation of the province and the chaotic incident of Bannu. The Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur presided over this meeting while other senior official representatives, elders from Bannu and politicians including the Corps Commander Peshawar were part of this meeting. It is with no doubt that this meeting should have been scheduled before but since the provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has come into power, the security situation of the province has taken a dark turn, however, the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi was not given the invitation.

If we look into the SOPs and procedure of conducting any meeting of the Apex Committee then it must be presided over by the Governor as he is the representative of the Federal government. Having said that, the Chief Minister due to his political and personal tussle with the Governor, does not recognise and endorses his role as the federal representative. This attitude of the Chief Minister depicts that the provincial government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf do not realize and understand their role and responsibilities in the war-ridden province. It is highly alarming to witness that the government of the war-torn province is still so reckless.

In a report shared by Ghag.pk, Dera Ismail Khan has been targeted the most with a record number of attacks in a year, marking it the top provincially. It is extremely disappointing to say that the Chief Minister, Governor, and Inspector General of the police belong to this city, and all three of them are not aware of the situation because of such behavior the incident of Bannu took place, targeting Pakistan. Moreover, the Tehreek-e-Insaaf not only showed negligence but also set the worst example of digital terrorism.

This kind of negligence and behavior cannot be tolerated further, especially when the security situation of the province is deteriorating. It is imperative that the federal government and the military leadership take notice of this behavior of the provincial government and consider the role of the governor as important while looking into the matter of not inviting the governor
